Author, Peter J Murray, Visits Northfield School

Creepy music and scary skulls greeted Y7 students as they entered the hall to take part in a spooky performance by award winning children’s author, Peter J Murray. Peter took Y7 on an epic Viking journey, which was inspired by a trip to the Jorvik Centre in York.

His latest series tells how Billy’s holiday takes a terrifying turn when the ghost of a ruthless Viking warrior returns. Year 7 were on the edge of their seats as Peter led them through the tale of the ‘Bonebreaker’, using student volunteers, music and props to bring the story to life.

The following day, Peter returned to the new Y7 library area to sign and sell copies of his books to a crowd of eager Y7 students, who couldn’t wait to purchase his books and chat to him.

Peter is passionate in his quest to promote literacy in schools and to inspire even the least confident children to use their imagination and achieve creative success. When not writing, he is guaranteed to be found in schools anywhere across the UK and increasingly abroad. You can find out more about his books at www.peterjmurray.co.uk/.
