Inspirational Event at Stockton Sixth Form

On Friday 24th June Miss Kirkbride and Mr Taggart took a group of nine year eight girls to Stockton Sixth Form College. Here they worked with a life coach, Russell Crawford, who did a mentoring session with the girls, focusing on areas of their lives they could improve and work towards positive goals.

Russell was great with the girls, who all thoroughly enjoyed the session. They were then taken on a tour of the college to see the facilities, including the learning resource centre and art workshops. This really showed the girls what the true college experience involves and made them all reflect on their goals for the future. The girls talked about their aspirations: for Jasmine to be a teacher; the army for Halle and perhaps nursing for some of the others.

The girls left the college infused with the possibilities the future of education could hold and with a promise from Russell that he would continue to work with us in the new academic year. In all- a very positive morning.
