National Poetry Day Thursday 1st October

Northfield Library celebrated National Poetry Day for the fifth year running with a poetry read at lunchtime. Students from Year 10 came together to share poems they had written themselves or chosen on the theme of vision (see it like a poet). Poems ranged from 'The Rainbow Children' written by a local mum during lockdown which captured the mood at the time, to traditional poets such as William Wordsworth, to 'There’s a Chicken on the Roof’ a fun, performance poem that has become a firm favourite with students over the years.
