Y7 Flipped Parents’ Evening

On October 4th and 5th Head of Year 7 School Miss Renwick, Northfield tutors and the Y7 Guidance team had the pleasure of welcoming over three quarters of our Year 7 cohort’s parents into the Year 7 School for a ‘Flipped Parents’ Evening’. This gave parents the opportunity to spend an enjoyable evening listening to their children sharing what they have been doing in their first half-term at Northfield School. Year 7 students led the whole meeting with their form tutor, discussing their favourite subjects and presenting their work to parents. Students shared examples of the work they were most proud of and explained what they had been doing in the lessons.  It was a real pleasure to see how enthusiastic the students were about the topics they are studying and the eloquence with which they talked about their work.

Parents also had the opportunity to discuss their child’s transition into secondary school and raise any concerns about their progress so far. The Year 7 team are delighted that 100% of our parents are ‘happy or ‘very happy’ with the way their children have settled into Northfield School and are delighted with comments such as: “Very pleased with how well Lucy has settled.  Great Extra-curricular opportunities.”  and, “Katie has settled in really well.  Thank You”.
