Year Sevens Make an Impact on Their Local Community

The Year Sevens were determined to make an impact on their local community in their very first term at Northfield School.

Students collected an abundance of cans, dried food, tins and cereals to be distributed to those in need over the Christmas period. Each of our ten tutor groups worked together to find, buy and collect cans of food to store at school in anticipation of the Food-bank collection on Monday 12th December.

The Billingham Food-bank have stated that Christmas is their busiest time of year and so the year seven council led their tutor groups through this project with maturity and sensitivity in order to make a small difference. They were equally mature when handing over the food items to the Food-bank representative Jill, who is no stranger to Northfield School where the Food-bank is concerned. In September you may recall Leon Hobson working and volunteering for them.

Well done to year seven. We hope they have a restful Christmas knowing that they have gone some way to helping others in need.
