Northfield’s Summer Art Show

On Thursday 6th July the Mayor and Mayoress of Stockton attended Northfield’s Summer Art Show entitled ‘Picture This’ and awarded prizes to students across a range of age groups.

The show has grown in recent years to include work from feeder primary schools and local tertiary colleges where past Northfield have continued their creative studies. Our aim is to showcase the fantastic creative talent we have in Billingham and provide inspiration for young artists who are keen on pursuing a career in art and design.

Year 6 students also contributed to the show with their gigantic garden drawing completed as part of their induction days. The range of work included prints, drawings and paintings of natural forms by primary students, robotic figures drawings, commemorative designs and sculptures about WW1 and the Holocaust, strange surreal animals, lino prints of food and work from three GCSE projects such as Human Condition, Preston Hall and a series of final exam pieces. In addition there were large canvases on show from Stockton Riverside College and SRC Bede.
